More Questions?

Can I have my pictures taken - at say - the beach, in the studio, or at my school for live-action sports?

  • Sure you can! Actually, selecting several different locations is ideal for your session(s), and gives you a diverse range of portrait looks to choose from. Be sure to voice your ideas during the design consultation to enable our team to schedule everything you're looking for - all within an acceptable timeframe that works for you.

Do you actually have experience photographing high school seniors?

  • We sure do! We were photographing seniors when you were learning how to walk. However, we don't believe in herding you through the doors in vast numbers in little time. We spend a few hours on your session(s) from the first consult, the actual session(s) and on to the unveiling at our presentation of your portraits. We value YOU, not the rush of getting the next senior in as we are pushing you out the door. When you reserve time with us, you have our complete, undivided attention, each time we meet.

If I get more students to come to you, do I get a discount or free pictures?

  • We do have a seniors incentive program for anyone interested in becoming a Lasting Impressions Senior Representative. During your initial consultation, we'll provide you with a brochure application. Just fill it out and turn it back in to us.

Do my parents have to come to the shoot?

  • It would be nice, but not unless both they and you wish them to. Most parents and guardians do come along and offer their support and guidance, along with fond teasing, laughs and good times. When you make it a family event, the memories are more abundant and equally shared. Plus, who else will carry your clothes and accessories?!

Can I post these to my Facebook and Myspace?

  • "Friend" us and absolutely! No, but seriously - we will provide you with web-friendly portaits, just ask. We're more than happy to oblige.

I want something to show who I AM. Can you pull that off?

  • So long as you display the true you, we WILL capture your personality and demeanor with great ease. As the old saying goes, "the camera tells no lies." So relax, allow your true colors to shine forth, and you'll be amazed by what we see and are able to capture for you through our portraiture.

Can you incorporate some urban shots into my session?

  • We certainly can. Several past seniors have loved our downtown, back-alley portraiture. The grungy environment adds for a lot of amazing background texture, while making YOU the focal point of the portrait.

I'm not thrilled about "posed studio" pictures. Is shooting in a studio necessary?

  • Absolutely not. You may choose from a variety of locales offered in, around, or even out of town and country. Some ideal locations are: downtown, the beach, your school, home, a park, the swamp, dance studio, church, fair while in-town, etc. Whatever you decide, we'll show up with gear in tow and capture you in your element.

I'm only doing this because I have to - how long will this take?

  • It can take as little or as long as you'd like it to take. It all depends upon where you choose to have your portraits taken. With that said, we're willing to bet that once you're in the limelight, you'll be having so much fun that you'll find yourself surprised how quickly the time passes. We do reserve sessions to last anywhere from one to a few hours. However, trust us when we say, "time in hours fly by as if only minutes have passed!"

I never like pictures of myself, why bother?

  • You're only a graduating senior once! We KNOW the perfect lighting and compositions that will make you look like a million bucks. We take into account the symmetry of your face, your personality and your unique style, and tailor every session to YOU. When you see yourself the way we do, you'll never ask this question again. We PROMISE!

Standing in front of the camera is boring to me, how will you get interesting shots like I've seen online?

  • Perhaps in the past, you've been bored in front of the camera. With us, that's simply impossible! We aim to not only provide phenomenal portraiture, but to ensure you have a great time as well. If you're not into the session, it will show in our work - and we steer clear of that at all costs. So come expecting to have a blast, and most of all, be yourself! If you do, you'll have the most creative and flattering portaits that you've ever had taken.

Can I bring in examples of pictures I've seen in magazines that I want to pose or look like?

  • Absolutely not. No, we're only kidding! We would love to see what you have in mind. Coming in with printouts from the web or magazine clippings is perfect, and helps to show us what you REALLY want to look like. So go ahead and bring them in - we can brainstorm together and find out what it is you like about them, and what we can do to make you look just as stunning.

Can you make me look like the stars?

  • Of course we can! You're already a star - you're GRADUATING! While we can't promise that you'll look like Orlando Bloom's twin or Kiera Knightly, we CAN make you shine in your own right. Tell the haters to beware, you're gonna look like a rockstar in your senior pics!

Do you have a make-up artist that I can use?

  • Most definitely! We regularly work with extremely talented hair and make-up artists in the Ft. Myers area, and can recommend a few of our favorites for you to choose from. If you have an interest in using a professional make-up artist, before using your own, please give us a call. We will give you the information needed to contact a beauty specialist who already knows our lighting and photography techniques, and can accentuate your features to give you just the look you want.

Do you recommend that I bring several outfits or just one?

  • This is one of those rare moments where less is definitely NOT more. The more you bring, the better! We have great eyes for a natural flow in portraiture, and the more you provide us to work with, the better we can showcase the TRUE you.

How important are shoes for my pictures - can I just wear flip-flops?

  • They are extremely important, and highly forgotten. Everyone tends to focus on the clothing and forget about the shoes. In full-body portraiture, the wrong shoes can be disastrous. For example - if you wear black clothing on a dark backdrop, and throw into that mix some beautiful, new white shoes, the eye will always gravitate on your shoes first, before taking in your face or anything else about your portrait. Dress to match in both color and tones. In many instances, no shoes will work even better. It all depends upon the varying situations of chosen fashion, colors and locales of your session(s). Flip-flops in the right situation are perfectly okay... still, make sure you bring at least one pair of shoes that are appropriate for each outfit.

Should I wear jewelry?

  • What do you normally wear? If your normal addition of jewelry is only a watch - keep it simple. If you love that ice, and are always decked out in your jewelry - go for it. Just bear in mind to transition your jewelry nicely with your clothing choice.

Can I bring a camera along too?

  • If you're planning on becoming a photographer, are part of a photography organization or club - we'd love to capture portraiture of you with your camera. If you are wanting to photograph the landscapes - no problem. We do request though, that our camera is the only one capturing the portraits of you. Yeah - it's an artist thing!

Can my friends come along on the shoot too?

  • Absolutely! We can even photograph you together if you like. As the saying goes, "the more, the merrier!"

Can I pose with my car?

  • We don't see why not. We understand and know how important your wheels are to you, even if it's an '87 Buick with a rusty hood. If you desire a few poses with your vehicle, we're game to capture the images for you. Let us know at the consulation, so we can come up with locations to compliment this sort of portraiture.
